New Premier League Football season about to start with a host of World Cup stars newly on show

New Premier League Football season about to start with a host of World Cup stars newly on show. So what are the likely outcomes this season for our favourite teams?

We've decided to have a few predictions at this stage (weeks before the first kick-off), and see how we go:

Arsenal:        To win the Premier league this season, or at least to finish in the top 4 (as they now, always seem to do, so no major surprises there)

Man City:    It's a toss up between City and Arsenal for the title this season, but we feel Arsenal will edge it on this occasion

Chelsea:       To contend for the title, but again get a top 4 finish.

Liverpool:    Another strong season is expected (even without Suarez), but no more than a top 4 finish.

Man Utd:       Hey we've run out of top 4 finishes, so sorry guys, you're on a rebuilding process, and while VanGall will do a good job this year it will be all about doing better than they did last season, so should finish 5th, but may edge Chelsea or Liverpool for that 4th spot

Football Fans: Are the gate prices at the various football stadiums worth it?. What will be the financial future for football?

It's amazing that there have been cutbacks in just about every area in the economy, and in the whole Euro zone, and a lot of the world, yet Football seems immune to these financial challenges: Well that is until now, as we've already seen with the likes of Portsmouth FC hitting hard times, and now going into administration twice. And even the big clubs have started to come out of the Closet, with Rangers FC, one of the bedrock clubs of Scottish Football having to disclose that it was effectively bust. And that is not the end of it, as with less people being able to afford to go to the big games there surprising gaps/empty seats showing regularly in the Premier league, in particular the lower clubs such as Blackburn and Wigan showing noticeable absences in attendances.
In addition, this problem will be further compounded by the proliferation of p2p sites that show live matches, bringing about the slow demise of the dominant position Sky sports had on live matches. And of course this dominant position was favoured by the premier league who themselves, benefited hugely from it from the exorbitant fees sky were able to pay out.
At last there may be light at the end of the tunnel, with a brilliant suggestion from the Everton Manager David Moyes, who I'm sure has seen my crystal ball of what lies ahead for football!.. The bbc website has the headline this morning  "David Moyes advocates 20% pay cut to make game more affordable", and that's only the start, but a very useful, and helpful suggestion, if football is not to run itself aground very quickly!.
Football is a great sport, but it's going to suffer a self-distrust unless moves are made to align it to the current  financial times we are living in.

Barnet Survive to remain in the Football League for next season!

I'm still stunned, shocked and can't believe that my local team, Barnet have beaten the drop to the Conference, given that I cannot remember a period all season when Barnet were not in the bottom two positions of League football. I recall the relief I felt when Martin Allen took over as Manager and got them off the absolute bottom, but I cannot remember if he got them over that line of second last spot. Does anyone know if they have, and if so when?. The fact that they haven't been out of the relegation positions ALL season (until the final day!), makes this great escape even more amazing!!..   OK Barnet, Please get it together next season, and be fighting for position at THE OTHER END of the table!!  :)

Arsenal FC: Gotta be the best team ever?

Is that a biased opinion?, but I have found Arsenal to be the most entertaining football team to watch over the years, with their style of open and attractive football. Perhaps you don't agree?. Post your comments as to why you wouln't see Arsenal as the best team ever!!
